Family originally from the French city of Montpellier, from which it passed in the mid-18th century to Catalonia and from there to America and the Balearic Islands, in the person of Ramón Quadreny y Coll, who married María Consolación del Castillo, his son Jaime Quadreny y Desvalls de Villanueva and Rosa Coll y Pasqual, whose descendants settled in the Balearic Islands.
